Traditionally, it has been men who seem to
gravitate toward instramental expression, while women tend tend
to embody receptivity thru the dance. In a tantric sense, we
are all of it, the muse and the muser. The outpicturing of the
call and response between the yin and yang principles is a sensual
dialogue of souls. The main purpose is the giving of thanks
and praise to Creation Spirit for the gift of eternal love and
life that It channels thru It's children.
There is a sacred geometry to dance, especially
in community dance. The classic circle of shivas holding a safe,
supported space in which the Shakti Godess flourishes is the
traditional arrangement. Many westerners tend toward secular
dance expression, where it is "my practice" and
"my space". Relearning right relationship
in dance communion opens the flood gates of oneness and the
ego mind can disintegrate. Then our role as channels brings
us into direct rememberance of true-self - thru the guidance
of ancestors, devas and angels.
To minister thru dance is a most grounded expression of gratitude
for the abundant energies given freely by the Ma to her children,
when they are able to draw in the kundalini energy up from within
the Earth's magnetic field. This energy can be coaxed like a
snake enticed by a pleading horn - or the sacrum of an ecstatic
dancer by the fiery drum. Many westerners need to start on the
floor to access this energy. Contact dance, or "contact
improv" is wonderful for this, as it brings us in tune
with our receptive nature, where we are able to explore a balance
of give and take with partner(s).
Gabriel loves nothing more than to dance with
Spirit. All his life Gabriel has been called to rhythm and dance.
Holding space and raising a 'sphere of energy' is tantric natural
selection and is how communion shakes thru blood and bones.
Wether live or recorded music, when Spirit calls, Gabriel is
often one of the first white guys to "give it up,"
and start side-steppin' for the Divine Feminine.

Since much of electronic dance music often
longs for acoustic intonation and natural musicality, Gabriel
has been lead to share his love of music thru ministrations
as a DJ. He has brought forth the tunes at Harbin Hot Springs
Unconditional Dance several
times, and holds space for a Tantric Moon Dance
(events) to bring in the ritual element.
Gabriel also loves to support all kinds of dance as a minister
of Stage and Lighting Design.
